Senior Tax Consultant – International Tax (EU VAT Focus)

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Consultant – International Tax with a strong focus on EU VAT. You’ll work directly with clients to solve compliance challenges while collaborating with product teams to embed VAT expertise into our AI-driven solutions. This is part advisory, part product development, part knowledge leadership. The ideal candidate is a proactive and adaptable individual who thrives in afast-paced startup environment and is comfortable taking on diverse responsibilities to support the team's goals

Responsibilities

• Research VAT rules across EU member states (and beyond), interpreting legislation into structured, scalable logic.

• Collaborate with engineers to design and test VAT determination tools and compliance workflows.

• Collaborate with and support the tax team on client projects and strategic initiatives.

• Support multinational clients to leverage our solutions for compliance reviews, audit preparation, and tax risk management.

• Assist with client delivery: check client data, outputs, provide updates, address questions or concerns, etc.

• Maintain our VAT knowledge base, ensuring it reflects the latest legislative changes and market practices

• Share insights internally to strengthen Evolver’s global tax capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business,Finance, or a related field. Master's degree in Taxation is a plus.

• 3–6 years in international tax, with deep EU VAT experience.

• Strong analytical and research skills, as well as acute attention to detail.

• Experience in VAT compliance, advisory, or audit defense.

• Ability to work across disciplines, law, finance, and tech.

• A mindset for innovation and continuous improvement.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate internally and with clients.

• Self-starter who can operate independently or within a team and balance multiple priorities and objectives

• Multilingual skills are a plus, particularly given our diverse client and jurisdiction base.
